As reported by the Orlando Business Journal (OBJ), Magruder Eye Institute will no longer relocate its medical office headquarters to Winter Park’s Ravaudage development. Instead, the group has renewed its lease at its current 46,000-square-foot headquarters, a medical office located at 1911 N. Mills Ave., where the eye institute plans to upgrade its current facility.
In March, Magruder announced its plans and renderings for a new 42,000-square-foot medical office building in Ravaudage to upgrade its patient experience, improve office flow, and create a shorter doctor’s visit. At the time, the project was named by the OBJ named as one of the largest office deals in Winter Park.
For nearly two decades, developer Sydgan Corporation has worked on the $20 million Ravaudage complex, which includes residential and commercial space as well as a hotel. Sydgan has hopes of attracting Winter Park office tenants, and Magruder Eye would have been the first major office tenant to sign on for the 1-acre development.
The multimillion-dollar renovation to the institute’s current headquarters will consist of upgrades to technology and the overall aesthetic of the building. Contracted for the project are Kalamazoo-based architect Eckert Wordell and Ocoee-based LMG Construction Services as the project’s general contractor.
