The Winter Park offices of the Orange County Clerk of Court will be moving next year to a new location with more space and additional services.
Operations at the current 450 N. Lakemont Ave. location will relocate in January to a newly renovated, 33,915-square-foot facility at 4037 Metric Drive. The new space will be three times the size of the current 10,500-square-foot office and will offer self-help services similar to those currently found at the main courthouse in downtown Orlando. Additional services will include:
- Two courtrooms: one for civil cases and another for traffic cases that will offer in-person and virtual hearings.
- A wedding ceremony room.
- Additional service windows offering more in-person assistance.
- An Orange County judge permanently assigned to the location to preside over civil matters.
“Customers can purchase and fill out forms, file new civil, small claims, and residential eviction cases, and file subsequent pleadings in existing cases,” said Clerk Tiffany Moore Russel of the Self-Help services coming to Winter Park. The selection of automated services will be augmented by in-person attorney consultations that will be scheduled one day per week. The in-person schedule will be released closer to the new office opening.
Customers will also be able to pay traffic citations and apply for marriage licenses and passports. And the new facility will combine the services offered at the clerk’s Goldenrod Service Center at 684 S. Goldenrod Rd., which will also be closing.
The Metric Drive building was purchased by the county in 2020 and is currently being renovated for the courthouse. Updates, video site tours, and additional information will continue to be posted to the Orange County Clerk of Courts Facebook page.
