Winter Park Adopts New Fee Schedule

Editor’s note: The Farmers’ Market fees have been updated due to confusion with the fee schedule listings.

Winter Park residents and visitors can expect to pay more for several city services starting on October 1. The changes were approved at the September 25 commission meeting along with the 2024-25 budget, and represent inflation-related adjustments for everything from garbage collection to green fees.

Professional service charges represent the city’s second largest revenue source after property taxes. The new fiscal year will include a penny-per-square-foot increase to the stormwater rate assessment, and begin the second phase of a 2-year rate adjustment to Winter Park’s solid waste contract with Waste Pro. The city will also begin collecting fees for the use of its public-facing electric vehicle charging stations. But the new fee schedule also affects youth summer camp programs, fire inspections, and rates for Winter Park Farmers’ Market vendors.

The following is a selection of current service fees and pending increases:

Garbage Pick-up

  • Residential collection: currently $24.27, increased to $28.50
  • Residential bulk pickup (up to two cubic yards): currently $103.13, increased to $123.75

Monthly Stormwater Utility

  • Per square foot of impervious surface area: currently $0.06/square-foot annually, increased to $0.07/square-foot annually

  • After hours fire inspection: currently $200, increased to $300

  • Non-resident: currently $110, increased to $120

Winter Park 9 Annual Play Pass

  • Single non-resident: currently $2,000, increased to $2,150
