Prosecutors Decline to File Charges Against Former Winter Park Police Chief

The State Attorney’s office dropped the case against former Winter Park Police Chief Michael Deal for domestic violence. According to court records filed on Thursday, prosecutors declined to file formal charges against Deal.

As the32789 reported, Seminole County Deputies arrested Deal on a charge of domestic violence on Jan. 19, at his Sanford home. A judge ordered him released on bond the next day. Deal resigned his position as Winter Park Chief of Police a week later.  

City of Winter Park Communications & Public Engagement Director Clarissa Howard previously announced that Division Chief Pam Marcum will serve as the interim chief.
