Winter Park Utility Releases Email Warning Residents of Scam

Share This:

The City of Winter Park sent an email on Thursday, January 6, warning residents that Winter Park Utility customers have been receiving scam phone calls from individuals claiming to be city representatives.

According to the City of Winter Park, scam callers are claiming that the City is partnering with Duke Energy to change out meters and threatening to turn off customers’ utility services “if funds are not immediately submitted.”

In its email, the City informs residents that claims made on these calls are not from the City of Winter Park, and urges those who have received such calls to report the scam to the Florida Trade Commission’s website.

For more information on utility billing, contact the Winter Park Customer Service team at 407-599-3220 or access their account through the City of Winter Park’s website.
