Full Sail, Orlando Health Announce Esports Partnership

On Tuesday, Orlando Health and Full Sail University announced a new partnership that includes the naming rights to the university’s esports arena, which will now be known as the “Full Sail University Orlando Health Fortress.”

In 2019, Full Sail dedicated over $6 million of direct capital investment to build the 11,200+ square-foot arena, previously known as “The Fortress.” To date, the arena is the largest collegiate esports arena in the United States and will remain the proud home of Full Sail’s college esports team, the Full Sail Armada, right here in Winter Park.

Orlando Health and Full Sail University plan to conduct collaborative research projects that focus on understanding and improving performance factors for gamers. In their research efforts, the partners will not only work together on a framework for effective care for esports athletes, but also plan to establish a scholarship initiative.

According to a recent press release, the two parties have chosen not to disclose the financial terms of the partnership and both have agreed on reallocating a $50,000 of the arena’s proceeds to scholarship funds per year for qualifying Full Sail students.

In addition to its naming rights, Orlando Health physicians will also be available onsite in the arena during esports events as the official medical team for the Full Sail University Orlando Health Fortress.
