Joanne Rogers, accomplished concert pianist and widow of the late Fred Rogers, passed away Thursday at age 92. Joanne and Fred met as students at Rollins College, where they both studied as music majors before Fred went on to create the iconic children’s television show, “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”

The couple visited Rollins College and Winter Park frequently after graduating and spent many winter vacations in town.

Joanne, who was widowed after Fred’s passing in 2003, spent the last several years nurturing her late husband’s legacy through her involvement with organizations developed in his name.
