City Discusses Improvements for Mead Garden and Ward Park

Share This:

Last month the Winter Park City Commission requested that city staff provide a list of infrastructure projects that potentially could be funded through a bond referendum. Projects at Mead Botanical Garden and Ward Park were identified for consideration. Improvements would focus on parking and accessibility at Mead Botanical Garden and on fields, accessibility, and infrastructure at Ward Park.

During the December 9 commission meeting, it was decided to fund these projects via internal borrowing. City staff will also research grants for additional funding assistance.

The projected cost of these improvements is estimated at $2.8 million.
