It seems like just yesterday the City of Winter Park announced plans to upgrade this year’s holiday decorations with a $125,000 festive makeover and a new, comprehensive holiday decoration plan. Now that red and green ribbons drape City Hall, locals can find potted poinsettias on every corner and, as recently announced by city officials, various road closures for holiday events throughout downtown Winter Park.

43rd Annual Christmas in the Park:
- Thursday, December 2
- The following roads will be closed to through traffic from 2 to 9:30 p.m.
- Park Avenue: between Canton Avenue and Morse Boulevard
- Morse Boulevard: between New York and Park avenues
Winter on the Avenue, Popcorn Flicks in the Park:
- Friday, December 3
- Featuring the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Popcorn Flicks
- The following roads will close to through traffic at 2 p.m. and will remain closed through
Saturday, December 4, at noon, at the conclusion of the Christmas Parade:- Park Avenue: between West Canton and Lyman avenues.
- Morse Boulevard: between South Knowles and South New York avenues.
- Lincoln and East Welbourne avenues: between South Knowles and South Park avenues.
69th annual Winter Park “Ye Olde Hometown” Christmas Parade:
- Saturday, December 4
- Park Avenue will remain closed to through traffic from the prior evening’s events and will reopen at the conclusion of the annual Christmas parade.
- The following roads will also close at 6 a.m.:
- Park Avenue: between Webster and Comstock avenues.
- New York Avenue: between Canton and Webster avenues.
- New England Avenue: between South Virginia and South Pennsylvania avenues.
- Side streets at the Park Avenue intersections along the parade route.
As previously announced on the32789, additional festive events in Winter Park include the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Holiday Pops concert on Sunday, December 5, the Winter Park Boat Parade on Saturday, December 11, and the Annual CHEEZ-IT® Bowl Parade of Bands on Wednesday, December 29. However, the City has yet to announce further details about these future events.
