Five years ago, we launched the32789 to fill what we saw as a gap in our community, providing day-to-day news about the people, events, and stories shaping Winter Park. What began as a passion project quickly grew into a full-scale operation, supported by talented writers, photographers, web developers, and designers. Together, we built a publication we are incredibly proud of.
From the start, our hope was that the32789 would gain enough community support through sponsorships and memberships to sustain itself. While we’ve received generous support for which we are deeply grateful, it hasn’t been enough to continue operating at the level our readers deserve.
As a result, the32789 will be going on hiatus. While our website and social media accounts will remain live, no new content will be published after March 28 and our last Sunday newsletter will be emailed on March 30.
That said, we believe the32789 still holds tremendous value and potential. If you or your organization are interested in taking over the platform in full, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at news@the32789.com with your ideas. We’re hopeful that new leadership could take the platform to new heights – and we’d like to find that person or group soon.
Above all, thank you for reading, following, and engaging with this platform we’ve built together. Your support has meant the world to us.
Warm regards,
Matt Certo
