Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic shooting guard, recently purchased a 6,384-square-foot estate on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes with his wife, Laura. The property, which overlooks Lake Maitland, had been listed at $3.25 and $3.15 million earlier this year, but was ultimately sold to the NBA player for $2.9 million.
Designed by local architect Steve Feller and built in 1995, the estate is situated on 2.15 acres and features five bedrooms and seven total bathrooms, including two half-baths. The main floor includes living, dining and family room areas, as well as a newly renovated kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and double ovens. On the second floor, you’ll find a master suite, three additional bedroom suites, a bonus loft, and a media room with a bar area. The property also has a boathouse, dock, and two-car garage.
The Bagby Team with Fannie Hillman + Associates represented the seller. Julie Bagby Williams, a realtor with the firm, noted that the real estate market in Winter Park has been moving at a “surprisingly quick pace” despite the economic impact of COVID-19.
“We’re seeing a lot of high-end sales, and we’re seeing a lot of people who are upgrading their homes or buying their dream homes because they’re spending so much time there,” said Williams. “For people considering selling, now is a great time to do it. There’s certain pockets of the population that now have the time to spend to look for a home.”
In addition to this estate, Fournier and his wife own a 2,654-square-foot home in Winter Park, which they purchased for $556,000 in 2015.
