Less than two years after opening, Park Avenue Tavern has vacated its New England Avenue address.
The restaurant/bar concept by New York-based In Good Company (IGC) Hospitality Group took over the 5,099-square-foot former home of Dexter’s in 2022 and began its soft opening on Valentine’s Day of 2023. The menu of contemporary American fare featured daily specials, brunch, and a “burger of the month.”
IGC oversees 18 properties across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. They also operate The Wilson Cocktails & Seafood in Celebration. The first Park Avenue Tavern opened on New York’s Park Avenue in 2010. Winter Park was the brand’s second location and last year, Chef Nibaldo Urdaneta was named its new executive chef. The venue has been removed from the IGC website and no notice of the closing was posted to the Park Avenue Tavern social media accounts.
IGC has not responded to requests for comment and there is no word on the future of the 558 W. New England Ave. space.
Park Avenue Tavern joins a list of recent Winter Park Restaurant closings, but others have stepped in to fill a few voids. Artistry Restaurant Group took two spots by opening The Chapman on Park Avenue in January and announcing the addition of its Oak & Stone concept at the former 310 Park South location. Later this month, John Washburn will be replacing The Parkview with the reboot of The Imperial.
Meanwhile, The Glass Knife is planning a second location in the Park Avenue address where Financier Bistro & Bar once resided.
