The Winter Park Playhouse 20th Anniversary Series rolls on with the musical comedy “Sh-Boom! Life Could Be A Dream” running Sept. 23 through Oct. 16.
A winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Best Musical Award, the production features nostalgic Doo-Wop melodies from the American Bandstand era. “Sh-Boom! Life Could Be A Dream” includes more than 25 hit songs from the 1950s and 1960s including “Tears On My Pillow” and “Runaround Sue.”
Cast members include Russell Stephens – previously seen in “Christmas My Way” – along with first-time Playhouse performers Adam Fields, Olivia LaBarge, Ryan Petty, and Chase Williams. The adaptation will be directed and choreographed by Tay Anderson with musical direction by Playhouse Musical Director Christopher Leavy. A musical accompaniment by the Playhouse band will join Leavy on piano with percussionist Sam Forrest, keyboardist John Wilkins, and musician Ned Wilkinson filling in on multiple instruments.
Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Select matinees will be presented on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Founded in 2002, the Winter Park Playhouse, located at 711 N. Orange Ave., is a nonprofit, professional musical theatre affiliated with Actors’ Equity Association that offers year-round programming.
