Intimate Living Interiors (ILI), a boutique interior design firm headquartered in Solana Beach, California, will soon open its second location in Winter Park’s Hannibal Square. Designed by California natives Founder Kari Arendsen and Tory Peterson, ILI will open in a space formerly occupied by Workout 32789 located at 244 Pennsylvania Ave., Ste. 100 in January 2022.
At ILI, locals can expect custom, curated designs specific to each project created by designers who work from conception to completion. According to Arendsen and Peterson, the team aims to create an educational, thoughtful, and fulfilling design process.
“We always knew we would love to expand to the East Coast,” Arendsen said. “We looked at dozens of spaces but felt like we needed a unique combination of approachability and connection to the community which Hannibal Square offered with its rich history. We felt right at home, not only our philosophy, but our timeless approach to design is a perfect fit for [Winter Park].”
Outside of consulting clients, the team offers a curated retail collection of its interior design services through ILI Be Home. According to the designers, they created the retail platform to bridge the gap between custom-built projects and those who prefer to integrate specific elements of ILI’s style into their own.
While Arendsen did not reveal many details surrounding the ILI grand opening, she and Peterson expressed plans to introduce the new concept to locals this spring with various in-store events. According to the designers, the new shop will showcase French Oak floors and other “fun features” inspired by the team’s interior design work.
“Michael Ostheim, our painter, was our first friend and helped introduce us to many wonderful people in the community,” Peterson said. “Artisan Kitchen and Bath Gallery and Aggressive Appliances have welcomed us with open arms. We hope locals find unique heirloom pieces in our shop and a collaborative design experience that is both fun and approachable — we can’t wait to welcome Winter Park into our space!”
