Winter Park Community Center parking lot became a trick-or-treater’s paradise as kids of all ages showed up on the evening of October 31 for Halloween Trunk Fest. More than 20 residents and businesses volunteered to dress up and hand out treats from the trunks of their cars during a night of family fun.
“Planning starts about two months out and we began posting on social media about two weeks ago,” said City of Winter Park Special Events Superintendent Kelsi Baker. Now in its third year, the inaugural Trunk Fest drew approximately 500 guests with and estimated 1,000 showing up last year. “It looks like there’s more this year,” said Baker as costumed crowds collected candy and neighbors met new friends.
