Winter Park enjoyed another weekend at the center of the Central Florida art community with an estimated 250,000 visitors enjoying work by 220 fine artists at the 66th Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.
The event is supported by a 501(c)(4) that enlists an all-volunteer board to manage the plans, assist the artists, and accommodate the judging that awards a total of $76,500 in cash prizes. The City of Winter Park sponsors the Best of Show purchase award with pieces listed on the Public Art Collection web page. Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation also adds one piece from each Sidewalk Art Festival to the Art of Philanthropy collection, exhibited throughout the foundation headquarters at 199 S. Knowles Ave.
The three-day outdoor exhibit featured large scale portraits, small works, and fluid designs of wood and metal. The event also draws devoted patrons and curious crowds that help boost business for Park Avenue restaurants and retailers.
