First responders, local businesses, Irish dance troupes, and plenty of pipe & drum music took over downtown Winter Park on the morning of Saturday, March 1, for the 46th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Participants began the march at 9 a.m. with practices and float preparation starting much earlier. The Saturday schedule was only the second in event history and was changed from its former Sunday hours to allow more efficiency in traffic control.

Everyday automobiles were transformed into eye-catching spectacles as volunteers donated their time to make the finishing touches shine.

The parade was originally coordinated by the Irish American Cultural Society of Central Florida with Winter Park Rotary Club taking over in 2024. Event volunteers include high school students who earn five hours of community service toward their graduation requirement. And this year’s parade was sponsored by The Imperial Park Avenue, which is preparing to open this month at its new 136 S. Park Ave. address.
