The former location of Park Avenue’s Financier Bistro & Bar is set to house the expansion of another popular Winter Park-based concept. Plans were announced Tuesday for The Glass Knife to open its second location in the 212 Park Ave. address during the spring of 2025.

“Our goal has always been to create a space where people can come together to enjoy delicious food and incredible coffee while sharing cool moments,” Steve Brown, founder of The Glass Knife, wrote in a prepared statement, “and people love to gather on Park Avenue.”

The expansion comes seven years after the brand debuted its first location, at 276 S. Orlando Ave., with a menu of desserts, breakfast items, lunch and weekend brunch selections, and artisanal coffees created through a Central Florida-exclusive partnership with Arkansas-based Onyx Coffee Lab. The Glass Knife went on to earn many an accolade, frequently appeared in “Best Of” lists, and was recently featured in Orlando Magazine as one the area’s Best Bakeries.

According to the press statement, the new location will offer the same menu with additional brunch items and “evening-only options” that are still in development. The Park Avenue venue will also feature the European-inspired décor of its S. Orlando Avenue sister – which is not a far cry from the vibe of the former Financier – along with indoor and outdoor seating and a semi-private dining space.

The Glass Knife expansion comes as a welcome change to the recent string of restaurant closings. Financier ended its five-year run in June with other area eateries, including Winter Park’s Ethos Vegan Kitchen and Farm & Haus, ending service in September. Another Park Avenue venue, The Parkview, shuttered in June but the vacancy was not prolonged as The Imperial Winter Park stepped in to take over and is currently working to open its doors later this year.

Details on the official opening date for The Glass Knife Park Avenue expansion and special events leading up to its debut will begin posting next year via the company website and social media accounts.
