A year after Orlando-based Jeff’s Bagel Run announced an aggressive expansion with plans for a Winter Park location, the new 1332 N. Orange Ave. store is preparing to soft open on Monday, June 17, with the grand opening happening later that week.
“We will host a series of soft-opening days with free bagels on different days for community workers,” Jeff’s Bagel Run Marketing VP Catriona Harris told the32789. “At the grand opening, tentatively scheduled for June 20, we will have giveaways for the first 200 customers.”
“Winter Park is known for having iconic concepts and we are grateful to be part of such a wonderful community,” added company co-founder Jeff Perera. “We believe our unique approach to freshness and quality will mesh well with the established businesses that we frequent and admire.”
Winter Park will be one of four locations in the current expansion, which includes shops in Oviedo, Celebration, and O-Town West. Locations in Clermont and on Kirkman Road are also in the works. The growth is tied to the addition of uBreakiFix and 1337 Capital founder Justin Wetherill, who last year joined the Jeff’s Bagel Run team as an investor. In March of 2024, company founders Jeff and Danielle Perera moved into vice president roles, naming Wetherill company president with the intent of franchising the brand.
“At the time I was looking at different business opportunities, so I started talking to Jeff and Danielle,” said Wetherill, adding that he was a fan of the product before his involvement with the company. “With what they had started, combined with my background in national franchise growth, I knew we could work together to grow something special.” Franchising plans went into motion in March with the addition of a national sales team.
Jeff’s Bagel Run is known for its selection of flavors and an open kitchen design that puts the bagel-making process in full view. Guests can choose from a rotating “bagels of the day” menu and seven varieties of cream cheese spreads. “They are whipped each day in the shop, and we scoop them fresh when you place your order,” said Jeff Perera. The company also has a collaboration with Winter Garden-based Otus Coffee in the production of its signature coffee flavor.
