The City of Winter Park will celebrate National Drive Electric Week 2022 with its first Sustainability Fair & EV Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9-11 a.m. in Central Park West Meadow.

The event will feature more than 30 electric vehicles including cars, trucks and e-bikes. Some vehicles will be on loan from members of the community while others will be exhibited courtesy of Holler Hyundai and Audi North Orlando dealerships. Display models will include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Audi e-tron, Rivian R1T, and aspecial display of the fully-electric Super Air Nautique GS22E ski boat.

The event will also feature sustainability vendors including 15 lightyears and ChargePoint, Inc., and free Kona Ice will be offered to help guests beat the heat.

According to Gloria Eby, director of Winter Park’s Natural Resources & Sustainability Department, the event was inspired by public interest in electric car displays at the city’s 2022 Earth Day Event.

“We wanted to bring electrification awareness to residents,” she said. “It was a natural fit to host our Sustainability Fair in conjunction with this year’s National Drive Electric Week.”

Preliminary interest in the show has already inspired plans for future events.

“The possibilities are endless as we promote sustainable initiatives through city events,” she said. “However, with such an overwhelming positive response thus far for the upcoming EV car show, we plan to expand the location to an area where we are able to host more cars next year.”
