In June, the32789 announced a luxury $12.5 million listing located at 1000 Genius Drive that prevailed as the most expensive estate on the market in Winter Park.

But on June 10, a 9,092-square-foot home located at 1411 Via Tuscany was listed on the market for $18.5 million. It shatters the luxury housing market ceiling as the new most expensive listing in Winter Park and the second most expensive in Central Florida.

1411 Via Tuscany is a Spanish Revival-style home with a two-story boat house on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes.

The price of the Spanish Revival-style home, however, was cut by $2.6 million on June 30. Now offered at $15.9 million, the home still reigns as the priciest listing in the area. Chocky Burks and Steve Healy with Cocoran Premier Realty are the listing agents representing the property.

Built in 1926, the 1.2-acre estate known as La Villa Toscana is on the National Register of Historic Places and overlooks Lake Maitland on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes. After the home underwent an extensive, multi-year renovation and addition by Pellegrini Homes, the estate was labeled as Mizner Spanish Revival style.

The amenities featured in the home are unlike anything Burks has seen, according to a recent article in the Orlando Business Journal. The marble in the house hails from the same Italian town as the marble used by artist Michelangelo to sculpt his masterpiece statue David.

Other luxury features in the home include electric shades in most rooms, a home theater, an air-conditioned garage with a caterer’s kitchen, hand-carved Italian sinks and tub, an elevator, a gazebo, a whole house generator, and a wine grotto. The home also boasts a blend of French, Italian, and Turkish-based cabinetry, flooring, and stone throughout the structure.

In the backyard of the two-story, five-bedroom home is a large boathouse sitting on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes, and a small, separate house, known as a casita. The casita’s roof is made of hand-selected, antique rolled barrel tiles. Inside, find a full kitchen, 100-year-old pecky cypress wood, solid marble features, and copper tubs.

The pool is detailed with imported, Italian-designed, hand-painted glass tiles. Adjacent is a cabana complete with a changing room and showers, a full kitchen, and a wood-burning pizza oven.

With the recent price drop, real estate agents are predicting that a sale is not far off for the historic estate.
