Former Florida Southern College President to Join Winter Park Marketing Firm

A significant figure in the statewide education community will return to Winter Park to join the latest effort of a well-known firm. Former Florida Southern College President Dr. Anne B. Kerr has accepted a senior consultant position with Institutional Knowledge: the higher education branding endeavor from Findsome & Winmore, parent company of the32789.

Kerr earned a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and received her master’s and doctorate degrees from Florida State University. Her dedication to elevating educational standards and fostering community engagement was evident during her two-decade tenure at Florida Southern College, but her career also includes the position of assistant dean of students at the University of Central Florida and 19 years at Rollins College.

Her tenure at Rollins began in 1983 as assistant dean of the Crummer Graduate School of Business. She was named assistant vice president for development in 1995, and in 1998 was appointed vice president for institutional advancement. In that role, Kerr led a capital campaign that raised $160 million – exceeding its goal by $60 million. She was also a founding member of the Rollins College Center for Philanthropy and Non-Profit Leadership.

Kerr’s accomplishments at Florida Southern College include the addition of 22 new buildings, the expansion of 20 existing facilities, and the restoration of several Frank Lloyd Wright buildings which the college is known for. Kerr also oversaw the creation of The Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise in 2011, a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program in 2019, and the opening of the Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing in 2021.

In her new role at Institutional Knowledge, Dr. Kerr will leverage her experience to create impactful branding solutions for colleges and universities. “Dr. Kerr’s impact on higher education has been remarkable,” said Findsome & Winmore CEO Matt Certo. “She has led with vision, integrity, and a deep commitment to institutional excellence. In addition to her experience at educational institutions, Kerr has served as an educational analyst for the Office of the Board of Regents for the State of Florida. Her community involvement includes board seats with Orlando Economics Club, United Arts, Leadership Orlando, American Heart Association, and the Junior League of Orlando.
