WPPD Issues Crime Alert for Mayfield Avenue Area

The Winter Park Police Department has issued a crime alert regarding a residential burglary that occurred during the evening of Thursday, Jan. 18, on the 1600 block of Mayfield Avenue.

According to a WPPD news release, suspects were observed on the burglarized property between the hours of 7-7:30 p.m. Additional evening-hour burglaries that occurred within a two-mile radius of the Mayfield Avenue property were also reported between Friday, Jan. 12, and Sunday, Jan. 21.

Surveillance images accompanying the news release show suspects who appear to be wearing a style of clothing that is similar to that of area landscaping and pest control workers. WPPD asks residents to view the photos and take note of the clothing. Residents with video surveillance are also asked to review footage from the past week, and to report any footage including persons resembling the suspects.

Residents with information on the identity of the suspects, or regarding any recent residential burglaries, are asked to contact the Winter Park Police Department at 407-644-1313. All residents are reminded to activate alarm systems and video surveillance cameras when leaving home, regardless of the length of time they will be away. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the Winter Park Police Department.
