Winter Park residents will have an opportunity to learn more about new technology initiatives when the city hosts a community meeting at Winter Park Country Club, 761 Old England Ave., on Thursday, June 15, from 5:30-7 p.m.

The open house-style meeting will allow guests to pose questions to representatives from the city and its technology partners about plans for new data analysis strategies for improved transportation and services. Proposed technology additions include the installation of digital signage, sensors and cameras, and outage management technology for utilities. The city plans to support these initiatives by improving high-speed internet access and connectivity.

Residents are also being asked for input related to proposed smart city improvements, and for their feedback on the following initiatives:

City Commission discussed smart sensor solutions for traffic and parking management during an April 27 work session. The proposals, which art part of Winter Park’s Transportation Master Plan, ranged from the creation of a pedestrian and biking network to equipping intersections with accessible technologies.

More information on the June 15 meeting, and the opportunity to submit online feedback, will be available beginning Thursday, June 1, at cityofwinterpark.org/smart-city.
