Cheese lovers can celebrate a new shopping experience when Simply Cheese opens its doors at 2258 Aloma Ave. on Saturday, July 23, with a special grand opening event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Located in the Shoppes of Aloma, the business will feature farmhouse decor and offer more than 60 varieties of hand-picked cheeses from across the U.S. and the world.
Simply Cheese owner Ann Thornton created the concept with inspiration from favorite cheese shops in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The shop will celebrate the local providers of her hometown and her current home by carrying goods from makers, breweries, and wineries in Florida and Michigan.
“We’re just raised differently in the Midwest. If we had a family gathering and we didn’t have a cheese ball, something wasn’t right,” said Thornton. “We want it to be a cheese lover’s dream and a true multisensory experience for them.”
Customers can sample “cut from the wheel” cheeses before purchasing, and browse a variety of globally-sourced products that include jams, honey, prepackaged meats, and vegan options.
The grand opening will be a farmer’s market-style event where guests can sample as they shop. Visit the website for more information and store hours.
