After two years of virtual events, the Florida Film Festival is making its in-person return, April 8-17.
The event will celebrate its 31st year of offering the best in current, independent, and international cinema. The 10-day calendar will feature more than 160 films from 37 different countries, 24 world premieres, and a selection of discussion panels and parties.
While several events are held at Maitland’s Enzian Theater and neighboring Eden Bar, the Regal Winter Park Village & RPX is hosting film screenings each day of the festival.
Winter Park venues hosting additional festival-related events are as follows:
- Opening Night Party, Friday, April 8, 8:30 – 11:59 p.m. Tiedtke Amphitheater and Belvedere at the Winter Park Events Center, 1050 W. Morse Blvd. Tickets and information available here.
- Festival Block Party, Saturday, April 9, 3 – 5 p.m. Winter Park Village, 510 N. Orlando Ave. Free to all festival ticket and pass holders. Guests will meet at the Winter Park Village fountain, located across from the Regal Cinema. The event includes free drinks and appetizers from select Winter Park Village restaurants. Space is limited, so arrive early.
- Visions of Tomorrow: Virtual Production & the Art of Next-Gen Filmmaking, Wednesday, April 13, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Winter Park Public Library, Edyth Bush Theatre 1052 W. Morse Blvd., free and open to the public. This festival forum features a panel of educators and industry professionals from Full Sail University as they discuss the possibilities of virtual production in the filmmaking industry.
- Filmmaker Forum, Thursday, April 14 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Winter Park Public Library, Edyth Bush Theatre 1052 W. Morse Blvd., free and open to the public. This discussion panel features the festival’s attending lineup of filmmakers and is moderated by Enzian/Florida Film Festival Programming Coordinator Tim Anderson.
- The Uncertainty of Purpose-Driven Nature Documentaries, Friday, April 15, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Winter Park Public Library, Edyth Bush Theatre 1052 W. Morse Blvd., free and open to the public. The cast, producers, and director of the documentary film Path of the Panther discuss the making of the film and how they were able to track and film the elusive species.
- Awards Bash, Saturday, April 16, 8 – 11:59 p.m., Artisan Motorcars, 1116 Solana Ave., $25 advance/$30 day-of. Attendees will learn the winners of the Jury and Audience Awards, then mingle with the winners at the after-party.
