Registration for the 2021 Men’s Fall Basketball League is officially open to interested applicants in the Winter Park area. According to John Clarke, Recreation Coordinator for the City of Winter Park’s Parks & Recreation Department, locals interested in joining advanced, intermediate, and recreation leagues will need to register by Friday, September 17.

The season will begin September 29 and 30. The first game will start at 6:30 p.m. and the last game will tip off at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Winter Park Community Center gymnasium. Each team will be responsible for supplying and creating its team’s “identity” for their jerseys.

The final championship games of the season will be in December, and the city will be actively monitoring COVID-19 and will be able to adjust according to the status of the pandemic as the season plays out.

Locals should note that the roster size is unlimited, and the cost to join is $400 for each team upon registration.

“There are three different types of play: advanced, intermediate and recreation,” Clarke said. “This allows for evenly matched competition which makes it more fun for everyone. The city’s goal is to make sure teams are able to each field a team to allow everyone to play and not forfeit.”
