Park Avenue will soon be home to a restaurant that is set to bring new flavor and energy to Winter Park. ORO, which translates to “gold” in Spanish, will feature live acts and entertainment; handcrafted, tableside cocktails; and a wide variety of tequilas in addition to its Mexican-inspired cuisine.

“[Winter Park] just needed something new and different,” said Jesse Williams, one of the operating partners for ORO. “You get a lot of high-energy types of restaurants over in the Sand Lake area. You have The H, you have Rocco’s Tacos, and even Eddie V’s. We wanted to bring that [high energy] to the Park Avenue area.”

Williams has operated several downtown Orlando nightclubs alongside his colleague, Kevin Young. Recently, they came together as Park Avenue Concepts LLC to expand their portfolio and open the new restaurant. The group signed a lease for a 3,000-square-foot space at 331 S. Park Ave., which formerly housed Mon Petit Cheri Café, as reported by the Orlando Business Journal.

According to Williams, the restaurant will reach a “wider genre” of residents. “Whether it’s a 21-year-old who wants to hang out until 10 or 11 o’clock at night or someone who’s older, you won’t have to drive far to get that kind of entertainment,” Williams said.

ORO is set to open by the end of this year.
