Winter Park Social, a community Facebook group founded by local Timothy Shüman, will host its first ever FLOATCHELLA event on Saturday, July 10, from 12 to 7 p.m. at Dog Island on Lake Maitland.
FLOATCHELLA, referred to as a “float party,” will be a social gathering around the island where locals can pull up on their boats, kayaks, and paddle boards to enjoy the lake. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food and beverages along with their favorite float to kick back on the water.
“First, there were swans, then there were pizza slices, now there is a float for EVERYTHING,” Shuman wrote in a post to the Facebook event page.
The meetup is free of cost and is only accessible by boat and other lake-friendly transportation. Friends, families, and dogs alike are welcome to join in on the fun.
