Winter Park Library, Writer’s Atelier to Host Book Festival

The Winter Park Public Library is partnering with Writer’s Atelier to host The Winter Park Book Festival, which will be held virtually from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, March 27. The theme for this year’s day-long book festival is Literary Activism.

As part of its virtual GoToWebinar event, the library is offering guests the ability to register online, free of cost, for various individual programs that are listed on the book festival’s schedule. In addition, literature lovers will also be able to purchase the books that will be discussed throughout the day. The schedule and links to register for the event can be found here:

9 AM Keynote Address:

Pamela Harris, author of When You Look Like US.

10 AM Literary Activism: What, Why, How:

Panelists Sohrab Francis, Brandon Goode, Sarah Nicolas, LE Perez.

11 AM Genres: Common Themes, Common Restrictions:

Panelists A.M. Bochnak, Jose Pablo Iriarte, Elle Ire.

1 PM Curating an Inclusive Collection:

Panelists Jessica Darden, Weekend Reader, Lisa Blue, Nicole Heintzelman.

2 PM Poetry: Well-Versed in All Backgrounds:

Panelists Lana Issam Ghannam, Tamara J. Madison, Toya Rochelle, Robin Gow.

Featuring an array of contemporary Florida authors, the festival will also host literary discussions, panels, and presentations. According to the library, the Winter Park Book Festival aims to not only attract and recognize authors, publishers, and readers from around Florida, but also recognize Winter Park authors.
