The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park and the Winter Park Economic Recovery Task Force will present “Bach off the Avenue: Silver Screen Symphonic Classics” at Central Park West Meadow on Sunday, October 25. “Bach off the Avenue” is an outdoor, socially distanced live performance celebrating the music of cinema. Attendees will experience music from movie classics like Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, and Harry Potter, all performed by the Bach Festival Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Dr. John V. Sinclair. “These are familiar works to many of you, and the music is top-notch,” Sinclair said. “These composers are today’s great masters.”
Two performances lasting 75 minutes each will commence at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. While the event will be held outdoors, there will be seating at small tables for groups of two or four, each spaced 12 feet apart to encourage social distancing. Refreshments including beer and wine will be available, and guests can pre-order cheese and fruit platters. Tickets are available for $110 for two-seated tables, and $175 for four-seated tables.
The Winter Park Economic Recovery Task Force, a partnership between the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and the City of Winter Park, teamed up with the Bach Festival Society as part of its efforts to develop events and mitigation strategies that encourage economic recovery for those affected by COVID-19 while promoting safety and well-being.
Guests are encouraged to visit nearby restaurants and retailers the day of the event to take advantage of special offers.
