The Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts will reopen to live audiences Friday, June 5 for the first time since closing its doors to the public due to COVID-19. The center is a registered non-profit aimed at serving the community through the arts by providing affordable music, spoken word, and visual arts entertainment to locals and a source of income to artists and performers.
The Jeff Rupert Quartet, a jazz group featuring Rupert, Marty Morell, Ben Kramer, and Richard Drexler, will kick off reopening night for the Blue Bamboo. There will be two showtimes available to view the act live at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on June 5.
The venue is operating at 25% capacity to ensure safety for employees, performers, and guests. Seating capacity will be maxed out at 32 people as opposed to its typical 110, tables will be placed six feet apart, attendees will be required to wear masks until seated and a thorough cleaning will take place between each seating. Pay-per-view recordings of shows, which the center was offering while closed to live audiences, will still be made available online for those who wish to watch virtually.
