During Father’s Day Weekend, City of Winter Park will host a socially distant “Dads & Grads” shopping and dining event in the downtown area starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 19 until 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. The event will honor fathers as well as graduates of Winter Park High School, Rollins College, and other local schools.
Participating retailers in the Park Avenue District will offer special deals to graduates and hang Winter Park High School graduate photos in merchant windows in celebration.
Park Avenue, New England Avenue, and Morse Boulevard will be closed to traffic to facilitate the event and allow restaurants to extend their dining areas outdoors and maintain six feet between tables. Restaurants are encouraging patrons to call ahead and make reservations for “Dads & Grads” weekend.
Any restaurant within city limits interested in partaking in the event and extending its outdoor dining services is eligible but must submit an outdoor dining application by Wednesday, June 17 if they did not already for the recent socially distant Mother’s Day event. Retailers that wish to have more than one table or rack outside should use the same application.
