The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce announced last week the launch of THRIVE Winter Park, a hyper-local charitable response to the financial impacts of COVID-19 on residents and small businesses. The community-wide initiative is made up of two funds designed to meet immediate needs and evaluate and respond to long-term, ongoing needs of the community as it works towards financial recovery.
THRIVE Winter Park is made up of two funds, the General Recovery Fund, used to directly assist small businesses and residents, and the Feed the Frontline Fund, used to purchase meals from local restaurants to feed front-line healthcare workers in the community.
Donation impact levels for the Feed the Frontline Fund are as follows:
The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has donated $35,000 to the initiative. $30,000 of the donation will go towards hiring an economist who will help build a model for recovery, and the other $5,000 will be used to purchase meals for healthcare workers as a part of the Feed the Frontline initiative.
